Spring is Sprung

I'm not going to start every post with …I can't believe it's already Jan/Feb/March whatever … but the Vernal Equinox? Seriously? I am flabbergasted by how fast my life is hurtling by. I feel like I'm in one of those films (Holiday Inn, specifically) where the calendar flicks though the days at breakneck speed! I still have stuff going on at home but I have been trying really hard to get make jewellery when I can.

Once the shed roof was fixed I had a fairly serious reorganisation of all my stuff. I have had a hugely enjoyable foray back into silver clay and I needed to set my clay kiln up to fire it.

I moved the bead kiln to the bench I used to torch on which is considerably lower than where it was previously. The clay kiln is where the bead kiln used to be and I am back torching in my original place on the high bench. The only reason I have shifted things about like this is to get both kilns into a position where I could use them both and I wasn't sure how it was going to work out. Last week for the first time in literally months I made beads and wouldn't you know the new set up is an absolute dream. I had been struggling since buying the bead kiln to actually place the hot beads in the kiln and now it's moved to a lower position it's so much easier, I hadn't even realised it was a problem until it wasn't.

I had the best time melting glass, I had forgotten how much I loved it and had even started to wonder if I would ever get back to it, which was a scary thought. So freshly inspired I have a palette of summery glass colours picked out and some inspiration for a new line of glass pendants and the next opportunity I get I will be melting.

"Spring is sprung, the grass is ris.
I wonders where the birdies is?
They say the birdie's on the wing.
Ain't that absurd?
I always thought the wing was on the bird
