Hibernation
It always takes me by surprise how quickly the days seem to charge by once we get in the run up to the holidays. At this point it almost feels like December is evaporating around me! It’s been a hard year and we’ve made it to the last hurrah, a little battered and bruised but mostly not too much the worse for wear. I’m not going to lie, at this point I am really looking forward to the new year.
With the winter solstice on the horizon I am basically just hibernating now, tucked up in my cosy little house the dark afternoons illuminated by twinkling fairy lights and candles. For the next few weeks I will be spending more quality time with my family, i.e. not nursing any of them, and our friends. What we all need now is sit down with a steaming hot mug of tea, the obligatory Tunnock’s caramel wafer, play some board games, argue over the jigsaw and shout at Tipping Point.
If I don’t make it back before the 25th have a wonderful Christmas!
