Last weekend George and I went away to Ross on Wye for the weekend. We stayed in the beautiful Wilton Court Hotel on the banks of the river Wye and were blessed with the most glorious weather.
Wilton Court Hotel is a beautiful Elizabethan building built in the 16th century and decorated with William Morris wallpaper and objects d’art. It’s described as a “restaurant with rooms”.
I loved waking up to the frost sparking in the sunshine with birds chirping in the background, things I don’t often see or hear in Hove.
This was the view from my bedroom window, looking out over the river
The spring flowers were just starting to bloom
Inspiration in every corner.
I love seeing ice crystals like this and would love to find a way to translate it into glass.
We had a fantastic weekend, lots of walking in the bright sunshine, delicious food and lots of lolling about pretending to read. It was so relaxing, we felt like we had been away for the whole week. The snow followed a couple of days after we left, I am so pleased we didn't get snowed in here!
