Lampwork Headpins Next Generation

This week I have mostly been making headpins. Up until now my headpins have been what can best be described as pedestrian, well made but a bit dull. A while back I bought some rather spiffy and frankly expensive new tools and I’ve been playing.
It’s been a bit of a learning curve but nothing too steep and now I’m just having too much fun. All of a sudden my head is full of ideas for colour combinations and little tweaks  I still haven’t got my dot placement in the middle quite right but that’s a coffee shakes issue, easily resolved 😁

Floral lampwork glass headpinsFor now I’m experimenting with various types of wire, kanthal, stainless steel and silver filled copper beading wire. From a lampwork perspective they each have different advantages but what I’m really interested in is how easy they will be to use. The wire needs to be malleable for wire wrapping so I will need to test that, I see some flower earrings in my immediate future. I think they would make fabulous buttons too, so many ideas to ponder!
