....making the necklace for my mother, B.B.s, birthday tomorrow and it's sweet even if I say so myself. I used 4mm lapis and 2mm gold beads strung into a 15"necklace with matching stud earrings, I think they have an Egyptian feel to them and I'm really pleased the way it all turned out. I wanted to knot the beads onto silk but I realised at the last moment I didn't have any silk thread thin enough -doh! so I had to use fine soft flex instead. I like the finished drape better than I thought I would but man those gold crimp tubes were nerve wracking to use.N-J has also been busy felting to make her a card which is looking totally gorgeous, I just hope BB realises all the effort she has put into it.Then tomorrow N-J and I will be heading up to the place my Uncle John used to call "the smoke" (or London to you and me) for the day where we will meet up with the birthday girl. I don't think I can bear to tell you what she wants to do but as she is a. my mother and b.it's her birthday, obviously I will acquiesce with grace and good humor. B.B. will head off early before the rush hour starts but N-J and I don't catch our train until 8,30 pm so if everything goes to plan we will have a few hours to kill. I can't decide between the National Gallery, the Tate Modern or the Tate, they all have things I want to see but I guess I'm just going to have to see which way the wind is blowing.I lived in central London for over 10 years and I still really miss it so I'm looking forward to spending the day with my two favourite girls in one of my favourite places.
