When I installed the new ventilation a couple of weeks ago it never occurred to me there would be any kind of down side to it, well there is and its a big one. Its like working in a wind tunnel, I overdid it me-thinks. I read, researched and calculated so much about ventilating ones studio properly I genuinely thought I had it right, clearly not. It is so effective it sucks out every vestige of warmth and possibly the last four inches of torch flame to boot. I suppose that's better than inhaling quantities of metals etc. but having spent 2 1/2 hours on a floral I have lost all feeling from the knees down and its quite possible my feet have snapped off altogether - bugger!I was really looking forward to my day beadmaking and it has been reasonably productive and educational but the icy cold has me beat. It didn't help that I could smell smoke for the last hour and even though I was convinced my house was on fire I kept going until I had finished the epic bead, although I'm not sure it was worth the effort.I made a stringer by layering transparents a couple of weeks ago that gave me the most glorious hyacinth blue colour which I have been trying to repeat ever since, I am not a good note taker and even when I remember to take notes I seem to lose them, thus making it a pointless excercise. Anyway I think I managed to get it sussed today which I am really happy about but beyond that I think my kiln may well be full of crapola, ah well, tommorow will tell.A fushia bead fron a couple of days ago, this is a glorious colour I love the new CIM cranberry.
