oh so happy....It is a beautiful morning, the sun is shining for what seems to be the first time this year, I have taken photographs in my new photography spot (the boys back bedroom window, full sunlight from early morning until lunch and NO wind - huzzah!), I have a brand spanking new GlassHive kiln waiting in the shed for playtime this afternoon and I think I might hit a small milestone at Weight Watchers today thus enabling me to have all my hair cut off (it's a reward thing!) I am seriously very happy about all of these things, although the new kln is way up topsides =D...I traded a never used Bethlehem Barracuda torch for a new kiln built by Mike Crowley of The Glasshive and I have to tell you, even though I got stung really badly by customs, I am thrilled to bits with my lovely new kiln, a massive thank you to Mike. Mike is a glass worker who makes these kilns specifically designed for beadmakers and seriously they are just fantastic, you can anneal soft and borosilicate glass, fuse glass and fire pmc too. I have drooled over them for at least 3-4 years now so when the chance of a trade came up I jumped at it. You know how the tools of our trade are sometimes so much more than the sum of their parts? My Phantom torch is like that, this is too and I love it, love it love it. It looks a bit like a robotic dog and I'm going to give it the name I'm giving my dog, if I ever get one, I'm calling my new kiln Gibbs!
