Yesterday was such an unusual day, George had a day off from work, a very rare occurence. Even more unusual, both teenagers were out at college, at the same time no less, crikey that is unheard of. So I am back from work, sitting on the sofa and I look out of the window and say jokingly "do we have any untaxed cars outside, the car tax van seems to be showing a bit too much interest in one of them for my liking" and to my horror George jumps up, sprints outside and starts speaking to the driver.... Apparently we did have an untaxed vehicle and the MOT had run out too, we usually get a reminder from dvla in plenty of time to sort stuff out but not this time - argh! I chose that point to fire the shed up and make some beads, what can I say? I hate cars with a passion. Several hours later I ventured back in, I'm so not going to bore you with the ensuing fiasco but lets just say it's still rumbling on. I thought I made some nice beads yesterday but sadly through my haze of car fury I seem to have picked up some bizarre choices of stringer to twist and accent the beads with. I took them out of the kiln this morning to find some really nasty bits, really tiny nasty bits but easily enough to spoil a good bead. I made a beautiful cz floral but sadly instead of using transparent cobalt blue for a tiny dot on the inside of the petal I used a cobalt coloured silver glass that went really icky and ruined the flowers. I wouldn't mind so much but I realised a few dots in and I could have changed it then and possibly saved it but nooooooo, I went with it and yuckola. I also made a really delicate transparent sparkley bead with dichro and swirls of irridescent Triton, then used a mosaic green stringer, by mistake, to tighten the spirals, again realised my mistake and carried on regardless...Mosaic green spreads, alot, so I have a beautiful sparkley irridescent bead with big green dots all over, yuckola really doesn't cover that one. So dissapointing so you will forgive me if I say again...ARGH!
